    • President's Message

      Bringing years of marketing and business management experience in world-class companies, Mrs. Poonam Dhawan is the new President of Hilltop School.

      She was born in Amritsar and did her schooling in Presentation Convent, Delhi. She then went to the US and studied at one of the largest universities in the US, the University of Texas, where she earned multiple degrees in Management, Marketing and also Information Systems.

      Having held senior executive positions in high tech companies, Mrs. Dhawan leverages diverse international experience and successful track record with Vice President positions with Global  responsibility for several multinational companies including Sun Microsystems and IBM. With a keen focus on bringing innovative technologies to market, and being an avid entrepreneur, Mrs. Dhawan has co-founded several companies starting with 4-5 people and driving them successfully to multi-million dollar businesses.Poonam Dhawan has served on numerous boards of NGO’s and community organizations.

  • She is the former President of the Texas chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs and has chaired TiE’s Global Initiative for professional development of women. Her past contributions include Board positions in the India Community Center, Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation, and Saheli, an organization focused on women’s and children’s wellbeing.
    She has been written and quoted in numerous national and regional publications such as Austin American Statesman, Business Journal, Financial Times, Economic Times, Tribune, National Herald and other publications.
    She is excited about coming back to her roots in India and taking Mr. IM Dhawan, her father-in-law’s legacy forward with Hilltop School and is committed to building this school into a world class educational institution.

      Dhawan was born in Calcutta and finish his schooling from St. Xaviers School, he got a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India. He then went to USA to earn his PhD in Computer Engineering from The University of New Mexico, after which he joined IBM.
