  • Chairman's Message

    Dr. Dhawan was born in Calcutta and after finishing his schooling from St. Xaviers School, he got a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India.

    He then went to USA where he earned his PhD in Computer Engineering from The University of New Mexico, after which he joined one of the leading computer companies of the world, IBM. He held the position of Distinguished Engineer one of the most senior engineers at IBM. Dr. Dhawan has won multiple Corporate Awards and Outstanding Technical Achievement awards including Top Contributor Award for his work on computers. He was given the title of Master Inventor with more than a dozen patents, articles and papers. He is currently serving as the Chief Strategist of Technology for Lenovo, one of the world’s largest computer companies.

    Dr. Dhawan has been visiting Dalhousie since his childhood and has played an integral part in helping his father with the school from the time it started in 1979. After four decades of being in the US, he is now returning to take over the school as Founder Trustee to help impart his extensive knowledge and experience to the students of DHTS.

    He is going to focus his time on enhancing the infrastructure and academics of the school to take it to new heights and is committed to building a world class institution that we will all be proud of.

       Bringing years of marketing and business management experience in world-class companies, Dr. Poonam Dhawan is the President of Hilltop School.She was born in Amritsar and did her schooling in Presentation Convent, Delhi. She then went to the US and studied at one of the largest universities in the US, the University of Texas,where she earned multiple degrees in Management, Marketing.   [read more]
